Off-site Detection
The Off-site detection method augments flame detection
in
situations where the flame may be obscured by other objects or slightly
outside the cameras field of view. It works by looking for the
reflections of flickering fire light off objects such as walls or furniture.
Those reflections may not be noticeable to the human eye, but SigniFire's™ powerful
algorithm is capable of sensing minute changes in
brightness. Each pixel is examined individually and then examined for the correlation in
these changes
across larger areas, identifying the reflective surfaces.

SigniFire™ DSP filter
preprocesses video images (right) in such a way that constant light is
effectively eliminated from the image. That makes it look as the
room is illumined only by flames (left). The detection takes
place when the intensity of fire light reaches the sensitivity
threshold.

Off-site reflections are
highlighted by purple tiles. |
