axonX expands SigniFire™ product line to include world’s
first intelligent IP network camera that embeds fire video image
detection analytics
SPARKS, MD (June 1, 2006) - axonX, the world’s leading developer of
video-based fire, smoke & intrusion detection technology today
announced the extension of its SigniFire™ product line to
include a stand alone IP
network camera. This new product embeds the powerful SigniFire™
detection algorithms onto a network camera powered by a
Texas Instruments
TMS320DM642 digital media processor. The
SigniFire™ network camera builds upon the proven performance
of the existing FSM-8 Pentium based product. With fire, smoke and
motion detection analytics residing on the camera, the need to burden
the network with video or data is eliminated unless an actual event is
detected.

The
SigniFire™ network camera will include a dry contact relay
for connection to standard fire alarm panels as well as the Ethernet
connection for transfer of video and alarms over the network. This
self contained fire detection camera will consume less than five watts
of power and is scheduled for UL & FM listing in 2007.
