Mac Mottley                                               
CEO

Mac Mottley is the CEO of axonX and is directly responsible for business development, operations, and financial management. Mr. Mottley brings more than 20 years of business and military leadership experience building successful organizations. Mr. Mottley was the initial angel investor in axonX and has led the company for two years.

Previously, Mr. Mottley served as the President and CEO of Mottley Enterprises, LLC – an industrial equipment distributor whose primary line was Ingersoll-Rand air compressors. Under Mr. Mottley’s leadership this business grew from $3 million to $14 million in sales. The company received the distinction of winning Ingersoll-Rand’s top performing North American Distributor three out of the six years that Mr.Mottley was the majority owner and CEO. Mr. Mottley sold this business to Ingersoll-Rand for over five times the purchase price.

While at Mottley Enterprises, Mr. Mottley also served as the President of the Association of Ingersoll-Rand Distributors and as its representative on the Advisory Board of the Compressed Air Challenge, a Department of Energy Initiative, to reduce compressed air energy throughout industry.

Mr. Mottley also held positions as a Vice-President for Carey Machinery and Supply as well as a sales engineer for Ingersoll-Rand. Prior to his business experience, Mr. Mottley served as an army officer in several line and staff positions with the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, HI. He attained the rank of Captain and after his active duty service commanded a Chemical Company in the Army Reserves.

Mr. Mottley is a distinguished graduate (top 5%) of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He received the Daughters of the American Revolution award for Excellence in Aerospace Engineering as that major’s top graduate. He was awarded a fellowship to the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland where he completed his MBA. While at Smith he served as an associate at the New Markets Venture Capital Fund.
